Our own Rock Star!

Remember me talking about the guy with Down Syndrome that lives in my home town? I was so excited to see that a Twin Cities station did a story on him tonight. He is truly our Rock Star! So sweet. Again, a true inspiration to my Molly. I can only hope that she will follow in his footsteps...

Here is the full story (I have to go dry my eyes now...) Enjoy!

This is Molly when I put in one of the Baby Signing Time or Baby Einstein videos. The look on her face is truly priceless...

Life goes on and on...

I am finding that it is harder and harder to find the time to blog. I now have to compete with my 14 year old and husband for computer time because they have discovered FACEBOOK and have enjoyed talking to friends. Austin is snowboarding and Michael is napping so I get two un-interupted hours on the computer--ya hoo!!

I have been on vacation from work but definitely not from life.

Wednesday and Thursday: After Graces' wake and funeral (she died peacefully in her sleep; her cause of death is unknown), I spent a quick 24 hours with my mom and dad at the farm.
Friday: Then out to dinner and drinks with friends from work--had a blast!
Saturday: Went to "Kinder Olympics" with the kids, then to my nephews hockey game.
Sunday: Out to dinner with some more friends--had a blast again.

Needless to say, I am exhausted!! I usually don't run like this.

I did find that the Kinder Olympics was especially fun for Molly. She had this big open gym to run around in. She loves balls and had fun throwing and catching the ball. We are currently working with kicking with her so the soccer part was a little hard for her. To my amazement, she had great balance in the bouncey; even with Gavin and Maggie jumping around like a couple of monkeys. We use a hoola hoop at home to help her core muscles (she sits on the floor and holds onto one side and I hold onto the other side and she does "sit ups") so when we got to the hoola hoops, my princess grabs a hoop, sits on the ground and hands the other end to the instructor. I had to laugh. I had to explain the whole therapy thing to this person. The whole thing was GREAT for her gross motor skills. Good times. Good times. At the end, they all got Olympic metals and a picture of themselves on the podium.

All in all in was a good, busy, and productive weekend. I hope next weekend is a little less hectic...

Relaxing Gavin Style...

Gavin is enjoying President's Day by playing the Nintendo DS--oh, to be 5 again! He'll come up for air eventually and ask for food and water. He hasn't yet, but I have faith....

Prayer Request

I have so much to blog about. A very busy week for us and a lot of new changes coming our way. The most important first; Princess Grace.

Grace came into my life on July 2nd, 2008. Grace grew her wings on February 9, 2009. I was Grace's first nurse. I let her mom and dad hold her for the first time. The parents stood out to me. They were young and yet so proud and excited about being new parents. I cried with the family. I cried tears of sadness when we didn't know how things would turn out. We cried tears of joy as Grace Elizabeth was finally able to go home. Grace even came back a couple months later and I was so happy. So, so, happy to see how great she looked and how well the parents were doing.

Then I heard of Grace going to heaven. Shocked.

Grace was a beautiful baby girl. You will be missed.

Please send some prayers to Graces' family tonight. I am not sure how you ever go on after a child dies and I hope and pray for peace within their hearts.

Too sleepy...

I have a housekeeper that comes every other Friday. Yes, that's right. Our lives are so busy and by having a housekeeper come in and do all the "major" deep cleaning, it really allows me more time for the family because it's hard to just "maintain" the home, let alone do the deep cleaning.

So anyway, Amy cleans a house before ours so she comes about 12:30. It's a hit or miss if the kids are at daycare or not. A couple of weeks ago, they were home and we thought it would be best to do the girls' room first since it was nap time. I really thought I could keep Molly up until 1:15 or so.

Poor baby fell asleep right there on the hard wood!

Don't you sass!!

Maggie is a mini me. From her facial expressions to her actions. She loves babies (as does her mommy) and she loves to talk (as does her mommy--LOL).
Since she is two years old, she doesn't miss a thing! Because she is two, she tends to get a little bit too voisterous and I have to let her know that she "can't sass her mommy". She also speaks of herself in third person. She always says, "Maggie is hungry". I am not sure why; my boys never did that but I think it's pretty cute at any rate.
Last week during the early stages of potty training, she went #2 in her undies. Not a big deal, right? Well, she was sitting there watching Elmo and didn't tell me that she went. She always tells me that she poops IMMEDIATELY after, that is why I started training her. So off to the potty we go. I was "scolding" her for not telling me and she needs to go in the toilet, not in her underwear. She gives me this angry look, points her finger at me and says...
"Don't you sass your Maggie!!!"

I watched my niece and nephew tonight and had a "hot tub" party. Well, that's what my kiddo's call the bathtub. Mmmmm....I wonder how long they will ALL fit in the bathtub at one time??

This one is me just playing around with Picnik. Gavin looked so cute in this one, I just had to have him be noticed...

I can't see mommy!!

Seriously, mom! I can't see anything with all this hair in my face...

(Mommy couldn't stand it anymore either. So off to Nida's we go..)

Much better, mommy! Thank you!
